For our customer in Germany, my task was to perform test planning, development and execution in a software product development, as well as to overview and oversee the general development activities in order to pinpoint elements which may be detrimental to the product development outcome. This included overview of requirement analysis to ensure their testability, early introduction of test preparation, ensuring that quality assurance was perceived as first-class development activity, maintenance of active contact with product managers and project managers in order to synchronize quality assurance with other development activities. In general, our customer had a history of not taking good enough care of mitigating risks (organisation-wise), and they ended up having to fall back to implementation of contingency plans too often (in their opinion). My goal was to implement a successful risk mitigation policy and plan - based on previous preparation of this plan.
